{"id":577,"date":"2012-04-23T08:35:06","date_gmt":"2012-04-23T15:35:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mediafire.com\/?p=577"},"modified":"2016-02-15T11:58:15","modified_gmt":"2016-02-15T17:58:15","slug":"mediafire-express-0-12-0-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.mediafire.com\/2012\/04\/mediafire-express-0-12-0-update\/","title":{"rendered":"MediaFire Express 0.12.0 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of MediaFire Express 0.12.0.<\/p>\n<p>New functionality has been added!\u00a0 One of the most visible changes in this new release is that the status panel (i.e., the small window with a progress bar that appears in the corner of the screen while uploads are underway) can now show pending uploads.\u00a0 The user can now cancel pending uploads shown in the status panel.<\/p>\n<p>Now users can control whether Express will follow a shortcut (on Windows) or symbolic links (on Macintosh and Linux) when conducting an upload.\u00a0 For example, if following shortcuts is enabled and the user uploads a folder containing a shortcut then Express will uploaded the file referenced by the shortcut, even if this file is not located in or under the uploaded folder.\u00a0 If following shortcuts and symbolic links is disabled then the files referenced by shortcuts and symbolic links will be ignored.<\/p>\n<p>Now users can control whether Express will ignore hidden files and folders during an upload.\u00a0 If so configured, Express will not upload hidden files and folders.<\/p>\n<p>Now Express will use system proxy settings so that it can access the Internet even the network is isolated from the Internet by a proxy server.<\/p>\n<p>MediaFire Express Change Log:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Release 0.12.0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Status Panel now can show pending uploads.<\/li>\n<li>Now the user can control whether Express will upload files and folder behind a short cut (Windows) or Symbolic Link (Mac or Linux)<\/li>\n<li>Now Express pops a dialog to notify the user when \u201cno update is available\u201d after the user clicks \u201ccheck for update\u201d at a time that no update is available.<\/li>\n<li>The prompt that alerts the user that a &#8220;new version of Express is available now&#8221; shows the available release<\/li>\n<li>Now clicking on &#8220;Current Default Folder&#8221; control will launch the &#8220;MediaFire Default Folder Setup&#8221; dialog<\/li>\n<li>Now the screen capture tool\u2019s control box remains presented if the user presses the \u2018save\u2019 or \u2018print\u2019 button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bug fixes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Now updating the Mac version of Express should not force the user to provide log-in and password again.<\/li>\n<li>Under some circumstances Express exhibited high CPU\u00a0 usage during log-in. This problem is fixed.<\/li>\n<li>Now the &#8220;Cancel&#8221; button, in the &#8220;Express&#8221; Options menu, will cause Express to forget unapplied changes<\/li>\n<li>The Dashboard\u2019s \u201cforget history\u201d button is now working again<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Release 0.11.0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This was a housekeeping release.<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019ve removed the word \u2018beta\u2019 from a number of dialogs.<\/li>\n<li>We incorporated some bug fixes.<\/li>\n<li>We tweaked the \u201cForgot your password language; now the user can select the \u201cLost Password\u201d URL in the dialog and copy it to the clipboard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Release 0.10.0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Features<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Added an \u2018preferences\u2019 tab to the Options menu<\/li>\n<li>Now MediaFire Express can be configured to automatically start when OS X or Linux boots.<\/li>\n<li>Now Automatically starting MediaFire Express\u00a0 when Windows starts can be configured from within Express<\/li>\n<li>Now the update progress bar only shows if the user invokes an update.\u00a0 Automatic updates do not trigger the download progress bar<\/li>\n<li>Clicking the thumbnail in the \u201csetup complete\u201d dialog launches the tour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bug fixes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Now MediaFire Express\u2019 Drop Zone doesn\u2019t suddenly minimize full-screen games.\u00a0\u00a0 In a related note, the MediaFire Team extends its heartfelt apologies to everybody who was mercilessly mowed-down by his friends when your game was unexpected minimized by MediaFire Express at a critical moment!<\/li>\n<li>Now, on Unbuntu files can be uploaded by drag and drop<\/li>\n<li>Now Express should not occasionally create dual systray icons<\/li>\n<li>Now the Screenshot tool\u2019s \u2018print\u2019 button works on Unbuntu<\/li>\n<li>The user was incorrectly unable to invoke a manual update before the two hour timer expired<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Thank you again for all the feedback about MediaFire Express, we&#8217;re excited it&#8217;s been so well received. \u00a0As always, let us know how we can continue to improve it!<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em>The MediaFire Team<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the release of MediaFire Express 0.12.0.
