New Account Management Tools
Now that the file distribution system is running rock-solid, fast and with plenty of room for growth we finally get to move on to some of the fun (and important) features like Account Management.
With the addition of the My Account page you now have the ability to do basic things like update your email address, change your password, and see an overview of your account activity. Some of the other optional fields on the account page will play a more important role in the future as development continues and as always any personal information will remain private and secure unless you choose to share it. One such option that’s now available on your My Account page is the field labeled “Display Name.” Your MediaFire display name has to be unique so make sure you grab the name of your choice early and hold on to it for later.
To access your new My Account page, simply log-in to MediaFire and click your email address in the top right of the page once it shows up. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Great job! MediaFire is most certainly the best file uploading service available.

MediaFire is by FAR the best uploading site I’ve ever encountered.
I’m not sure if you can do this already (I’m a mediafire n00b), but it would be really sweet to be able to organize your uploaded files somehow. That way, you wouldn’t have to dig through ALL your files for the one you’re searching for.
In any case, keep up the good work

Yes i have become a big fan of your service as well. Are there any programs out there (free) that will split a large file into smaller chunks? I had several files bigger than the new 100 meg limit that still need to be hosted.

Hi Jake,
There are some great archiving applications out there that would make it possible to split larger files into smaller chunks. I would recommend WinRAR ( available for free at

Yep, MF is great and very easy to use! But I think the file management tools would be better and more friendly user.
In fact maybe you can add a function to add a file description before the upload and a button to modify/rename description/name file after the dwl. It will be fine to better manage files. And create folders to rank uploaded files. Thank you for MF.

I love mediafire!!
Awsome service and VERY good support!
Way the go!

It’s good to know that we’re allowed to multi-RAR the larger files onto the site without breaking the ToS. Then again, I don’t have any that large yet.

Well you know sooner or later, you will run out of either space, bandwidth, or money. May I just ask how are you supporting this website and its server alone without having a rough time spending money on either hard drives memory, or etc. I would think it would be very hard to keep up with this and in the long run, something will give out. So yeah, I would like to hear your response on this…
I don’t want to see another good potential site lost because of money issues, or something like that.

As a website owner, developer, amongst many other things in my life; I’ve got to admit that this is totally awesome. How much for a paid service to your site. I’ve used it for free, but.. is there a catch?

Heey, i just started using mediafire a couple of weeks ago, it works fine… But is there already a possibility (omg hate that word) for seeing which people downloaded something… I do see how many times is downloaded but what is most and who did…… i’d like to know…
(it could be im such a n00b that i dont see it but it is there)
…and when the beta period ends, do all beta users also have to pay ??? :S or do they get something like a “promocode” just like warrock???

Great job folks…I know your efforts are very consuming of your free time and the
things most of us do on a daily basis. Thank you for the sacrafices you have all made to “give” this to us. I for one will not take you for granted. Let me iron out the “wrinkles” and see where it leads…you can expect a donation.
Please tell me how to add a password to my uploads….Thanks again

I’ve got to admit this service is totally unique & eh’… unique, there’s only one word for it and thats it. People used to only dream about this kind of service. Even ‘as is’ Mediafire knocks the socks of every other service i’ve used. Extremely fast and reliable. It took me a week or two to settle in, I was waiting on some kind’a catch or limit to appear. I dread the day it does. Awsome work guys & gals, - Who Love’s Ya Baby. xxx

I have that password thing figured out… with the help of some really nice folks…thanks and I look forward to spending time using your great service.

mediafire is the perfect name of mediafire cos it a real site of fire for media’s just like its name. i have become a great fam of mediafire by now and i also enjoy a lot using its features. the most great thing i love abt mf is its unlimited uploading space that it provides.keep up the good work media fire team.
I think,
feature that could help mf to improve even better is given below:
mf can do folder type system ,i meant to say that we the users will be able to create new folders with the desired name we want to give to the folder in the my files section of mf cos with this we can put our desired files in the specific folders we want in a very organized and arranged manner, which will help us a lot and will be easier for us… atlast i want to say mf is the best !!!!

Hello and thanks to the Mediafire team for a great solution. One question about the nice new folders capability: Can uploads be targeted directly into a folder? So far my uploads all go to the top level folder, then have to be moved. If the file(s) are large, this move seems to be coming back through the user’s PC and takes very long. Thanks for any help you can give on this
